Quick winning principles
- Fill the 2-letter word slot first with your worst tile pair.
- Keep vowel-consonant ratio balanced across all 5 slots.
- Don't complete one long word while others sit empty—parallelize.
- Call Dabble only when every slot has a valid word, not your best word.
Ideal strategy
- 1
Slot priority: 2-letter > 3-letter > 6-letter > 4-letter > 5-letter. The 2-letter slot absorbs Q, Z, J dumps; 6-letter slot is built last with remaining best tiles.
- 2
Parallel construction: place tentative roots in all 5 slots before refining any—prevents locking tiles in one word.
- 3
Vowel funnel: if you draw 4 vowels, commit 2 to the 3-letter slot immediately; vowel hoarding blocks 4 and 5-letter slots.
- 4
Race timing: opponents slow when 6-letter slot is empty—rush to place 6+ tiles across slots even if words are suboptimal, then upgrade.
- 5
Validation pass: last 10 seconds, verify every slot is legal—one invalid word invalidates the entire board.
