Quick winning principles
- Round 3 (3-letter words): go out fast with any valid combo.
- Round 8: maximize word count in hand before going out.
- Wild cards stay flexible until the round's longest word is buildable.
- Track opponent hand sizes—go out when leaders have 5+ cards.
Ideal strategy
- 1
Round tempo curve: R1-3 go out immediately with minimum words; R4-6 balance; R7-8 maximize points before going out. Going out round 8 with 6 words beats round 7 with 3.
- 2
Card valuation shifts: in round 5, a 5-letter word slot is worth more than holding for round 6—present value of points matters.
- 3
Wild timing: play wild on the longest word slot in the current round, not saved for next—next round adds a new slot anyway.
- 4
Go-out threshold: calculate if opponents can beat your table points; if leader has 4 cards in round 6, go out with 3 mediocre words to cap their draw.
- 5
Discard signaling: discard high-value letters opponents need for their visible melds—deny without revealing your round target.
