Quick winning principles
- Form blockades with two pieces on the same safe square — opponents cannot pass.
- Enter all pieces early; pieces in start waste doublet bonuses.
- Use safety zones (colored circles) to shelter pieces from capture.
- Race two pieces home together — a lone piece on the home stretch is vulnerable.
Ideal strategy
- 1
Blockade formation: place two pieces on a safe square to create a wall. Break blockades only when you can advance past opponent blockades.
- 2
Doublet exploitation: rolling doubles grants four moves (or entry from start). Use doublets to move one piece far rather than four pieces short.
- 3
Capture priority: capture pieces within 7 spaces of your blockade to trap them behind your wall.
- 4
Home column: enter home column only when you can reach home in 1-2 rolls — stuck pieces block your own path.
- 5
Safe zone cycling: move between safety zones to avoid capture corridors on the main track.
- 6
Endgame: when one piece is 5 spaces from home, sacrifice blockade pieces to clear the path.
