Quick winning principles
- Always move a piece out of start on 1 or 2 — board presence beats holding cards.
- Use 4 cards backward only to enter safety zones or block opponent slides.
- Save Sorry! cards for opponent pieces within 4 spaces of home.
- Slide zones (red triangles) can advance you 4+ spaces — position pieces before opponent slides.
Ideal strategy
- 1
Card probability: 45 cards, 5 of each number 1-12 except one 1 and one 2 removed. Track discards to calculate draw odds.
- 2
Slide exploitation: enter slide zones with exact count to ride the full slide. Block slides by occupying the entry square.
- 3
Safety points: the 5 safe circles per color protect from Sorry! and slides — camp here when threatened.
- 4
Sorry! timing: play on the leading piece, not the closest. Knocking a piece 3 spaces from home to start is worth more than one 10 spaces out.
- 5
7 card split: always split 7 to move two pieces when both advance toward home; never waste on one piece unless it reaches home.
- 6
Endgame: hold a 1 or 2 for guaranteed home entry rather than risking a 3-6 overshoot.
