Quick winning principles
- Pick your target number from the first roll's majority.
- Keep matching dice aside — only reroll non-matches.
- Shake dice in cup flat, not stacked, for faster settles.
- Call Tenzi only when all ten show the same face.
Ideal strategy
- 1
Target selection: on first roll, if you have three 4s, commit to 4s — switching numbers mid-race wastes rolls.
- 2
Staging technique: set aside matches immediately. Rerolling 7 dice is slower than rerolling 4 twice.
- 3
Physical technique: flat cup shake with wrist snap settles dice faster than vertical shaking. Competitive Tenzi is partly ergonomics.
- 4
Pattern recognition: experienced players read partial results without counting — train visual recognition of 6+ matches.
- 5
Tenzi Tower variant: stack matching dice — stability matters. Slower shakes prevent tower collapse.
- 6
Split variant (80zi): two sets of 5 matching — solve easier number first, then harder.
