Dutch Blitz

Dutch Blitz is speed solitaire racing. Experts clear their blitz pile first, cycle the three-card hand efficiently, and only call Blitz when the pile is truly empty.

Quick winning principles

  • Play from blitz pile before post piles or hand.
  • Cycle three cards from hand — never hold waiting for perfect.
  • Play any legal card immediately — speed beats planning.
  • Call Blitz only when blitz pile is completely empty.

Ideal strategy

  1. 1

Blitz pile priority: every blitz card played is -1 toward victory. Post piles are staging — play blitz whenever legal even if post setup is prettier.

  2. 2

Hand cycling: draw three, play any legal, repeat. Don't save a 7 in hand hoping for 8 on blitz when a post pile needs it now.

  3. 3

Post pile management: four post piles give flexibility. Start new piles with low cards; build up to free stuck blitz cards.

  4. 4

Shared Dutch piles: anyone can play 1-10 in center. Watch opponents' speed — if they're stuck, your blitz 9 might sit while you help them by playing 8 on Dutch.

  5. 5

Call discipline: premature Blitz call costs -2. Verify blitz pile is empty and no legal play exists before calling.

  6. 6

Physical technique: one-hand play, card positioning, and minimal reach distance matter at competitive speed.
