Quick winning principles
- Keep at least one empty column free whenever possible.
- Build in-suit before mixing suits on deep stacks.
- Break mixed-suit runs only to flip a hidden card or free a king.
- Deal from the stock only when no productive tableau move exists.
Ideal strategy
- 1
Empty columns multiply mobility. Moving a full king stack into an empty slot often beats incremental same-suit progress that traps kings.
- 2
In four-suit Spider, mixed-suit builds are temporary scaffolding. Plan the unmixing path before committing cards to a pile.
- 3
Deal timing matters: ten new cards can bury kings. Exhaust high-yield flips and column clears before touching the stock.
- 4
Work from the highest incomplete stacks first — buried kings in low piles are the main endgame failure mode.
- 5
When two suits compete for the same column, favor the suit with more remaining cards in the deck for completion potential.
